From Corporate Corridors to Bharat’s Procurement Powerhouse: How One Man’s Vision Built an 9.5-Lakh Supplier AI SaaS Giant - Procurpal
In a proud moment for the entire ProcUrPal team, the company has been conferred with the ‘Award of Innovation’ at UDDIPAN — A National MSME Summit & Leadership Conclave, organized in collaboration with leading academic and industry partners. This recognition highlights ProcUrPal’s commitment to transforming the procurement landscape through its AI-driven, Made-in-India eProcurement SaaS platform, built to serve the unique needs of Indian businesses. With over 9.5 lakh+ suppliers onboarded, ProcUrPal is fast emerging as the trusted procurement partner for MSMEs, enterprises, and government buyers alike.
ProcUrPal is a pioneering venture conceptualized by Vikas Chadda, a tech industry veteran-turned-entrepreneur and a mentor to over 200+ student-led startups at prestigious institutions like IITs, IIMs, and BITS-Pilani. Leaving behind a distinguished corporate journey while carrying forward decades of expertise and leadership, what he has built could very well position India as a formidable contender to China and the USA in the domain of AI-driven eProcurement.
With over 25 years of distinguished experience in technology development and sales leadership at renowned organizations such as Lenovo and Reliance, Vikas Chadda observed firsthand the challenges faced by Indian enterprises due to outdated and inefficient procurement systems. “The existing systems were either painfully manual or too expensive for smaller Indian companies. And none of them leveraged Artificial Intelligence in a way that made procurement smarter,” shares Chadda. And thus, ProcUrPal was founded in December 2023 — a proudly Made-in-Bharat, AI-driven SaaS platform engineered to empower businesses by streamlining procurement processes, simplifying supplier selection, and automating RFx management.
Vikas Chadda’s transition from a distinguished corporate leadership career to the dynamic and often unpredictable startup ecosystem was marked by significant challenges and learning curves. In its formative phase, ProcUrPal operated as a fully bootstrapped venture, relying solely on internal resources for nearly a year — until it recently secured its first round of external funding, marking a significant milestone in its growth journey. As a tech entrepreneur, he donned multiple roles — CEO, product strategist, operations lead, and salesperson — while his parallel venture, Brandblaze Digital, played a pivotal role in shaping ProcUrPal’s go-to-market strategy.
With insights from over 100 procurement veterans, Vikas Chadda built ProcUrPal to address real-world procurement challenges. Backed by nearly a year of focused R&D, the platform went live in February 2025 — and within just two months, it’s already reshaping how enterprises approach procurement, making a tangible impact across the eProcurement landscape.
ProcUrPal is a next-generation procurement SaaS platform that leverages AI and automation across the entire sourcing journey — from RFPs and RFIs to complex e-auctions. It streamlines processes, enhances transparency, and empowers data-driven decision-making. Its two key service modules are specifically designed to make enterprise procurement efficient, transparent, and accessible:
  • RFx Module: Buyers input requirements via an intake form. ProcUrPal’s AI and category managers coordinate supplier responses and evaluate bids based on compliance, pricing, and performance metrics. It cuts down the RFx process time by over 50% and achieves up to 20% project cost savings.
  • eAuction Module: Introduces real-time competitive bidding through forward and reverse auctions, complete with AI-selected optimal bids and smart dashboards.
Unlike global ERPs that struggle with Indian compliance and regional workflows, ProcUrPal was built with these intricacies in mind. Whether you’re a legacy giant or a young startup, ProcUrPal’s flexible models make enterprise-grade tools available without breaking the bank:
  • Subscription-Based Model: Ideal for mid-sized and large enterprises with frequent procurement needs, offering unlimited access for a monthly or annual fee.
  • Event-Based Model: Designed for occasional procurement users that float only a few RFPs annually.
  • Spend-Based Model: A usage-based model that charges a percentage of the total transaction value, perfect for businesses with fluctuating volumes.
This localized, homegrown strength is paying off rapidly across the ecosystem on both the buyer and supplier horizons:
  • Over 10 Indian businesses from sectors like retail, FMCG, logistics, and manufacturing have already adopted the platform.
  • Over 9.5 lakh vendors have been onboarded on the supplier side, creating one of India's most powerful supplier ecosystems.
  • Achieved formal recognition as a 'startup' from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Startup India Initiative.
  • Achieved ISO 27001 certification, underscoring its commitment to information security, governance, and trust.
“ProcUrPal is proudly made in Bharat for the world. We understand the challenges of Indian businesses better than global SaaS platforms,” Vikas says with pride. With Chinese startups leading the way in AI-based procurement solutions, Chadda believes India has what it takes to build a world-class B2B sourcing ecosystem, tailored to local nuances and scalable for international markets.
Though just months into operations, ProcUrPal’s roadmap is already highly ambitious. On the revenue side, while FY 2024–25 saw modest earnings of ₹50 lakh due to a very recent launch, the team is targeting ₹5 crore in FY 2025–26. Further rounds of fundraising are also on the table to help scale globally. The Bangalore startup has already received industry accolades, including the ‘Innovative Leaders of the Year 2024’ by Business Connect Magazine and ‘Best Use of AI in Procurement & SaaS’ at the Elets India AI Summit 2024.
  • Plans are underway to expand into Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
  • Next-gen features in development include predictive analytics, blockchain-powered Contract Management Systems, and multilingual compliance tools.
  • Introduced a 15-day free trial to let potential clients explore the product risk-free.
